About the program

In many underserved communities across Uganda, classrooms are full—but teachers and resources are limited. Children are eager to learn, full of dreams and potential, yet they need support, encouragement, and global connection to thrive. This is where you come in. Our Teach & Empower Volunteer Program invites passionate individuals from around the world to step into classrooms as **Teaching & School Support Assistants**, helping to bridge the gap and bring quality education closer to every child. Behind every desk is a child who wants to read, write, and build a better future. But overcrowded classrooms, limited materials, and teacher shortages make it difficult. By volunteering, you will: - Support local teachers in delivering lessons - Give students **individual attention they rarely receive** - Inspire confidence, curiosity, and hope - Become a role model and global mentor Your time and care can change the direction of a child’s life You don’t need to be a professional teacher—just bring your passion, patience, and willingness to help. You may: - Assist in teaching English, math, science, or creative subjects - Help with reading, writing, and classroom activities - Organize games, arts, and educational clubs - Support school organization and daily routines - Share your culture and learn from theirs. Every small effort you give creates big, meaningful change We welcome: - Students and graduates (education or non-education backgrounds) - Gap year travelers seeking purpose - Teachers and aspiring educators - Groups, friends, and university teams - Anyone with a heart for children and community impact. No prior experience is required—**just commitment and compassion**. Volunteering in Kampala is more than service—it’s a journey of growth, connection, and discovery. During your stay, you will: - Experience the vibrant culture and warm hospitality of Uganda - Explore local markets, music, and traditions - Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of Africa—from green landscapes to Lake views - Build friendships with fellow volunteers and local communities - Gain confidence, leadership skills, and global perspective This program is perfect for a gap year, career break, or meaningful travel experience. Many schools are doing their best with very little. Without support, children risk falling behind—not because they lack ability, but because they lack opportunity. - Your presence can help change that story. - Join Us & Be the Difference Step into a classroom. Share your knowledge. Inspire a dream. Teach. Empower. Transform Lives—Including Your Own. Apply now and become part of a mission that is shaping the future of education in Uganda.
