About the program

Despite the richness of the land and the vast potential of the ocean, poverty, climate challenges, and limited access to modern farming skills continue to hold communities in Malindi and Kilifi back. As a volunteer in our Agriculture and Fish Farming Program, you will stand at the heart of transformation—working hand in hand with local farmers, women, and youth to cultivate not just crops and fish, but hope, dignity, and sustainable futures. You will support hands-on initiatives such as: - Training communities in sustainable farming techniques - Assisting in fish farming (aquaculture) projects** for income generation - Promoting climate-smart agriculture and environmental conservation - Empowering women and youth with practical skills to feed their families and earn a living Your presence will go far beyond physical labor. You will become a mentor, a source of inspiration, and a bridge between knowledge and opportunity. Every seed planted, every fish pond supported, and every skill shared contributes to breaking the cycle of poverty and building self-reliance. And while you give, you will also receive. Experience the breathtaking beauty of Kenya’s coastline—from the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean to the rich Swahili culture, warm hospitality, and vibrant local life. Spend your afternoons connecting with communities, enjoying coastal cuisine, and witnessing firsthand the impact of your contribution. This program is ideal for: - Gap year travelers seeking meaningful impact - Students and professionals in agriculture, environmental science, or development - Passionate individuals ready to create real change Come not just as a volunteer—but as a catalyst for change. Together, we can grow food, create livelihoods, and plant the seeds of a better tomorrow.
