About the program

Join the movement to protect the ocean, restore coastlines, and empower local communities across Kenya’s most beautiful coastal regions. We invite passionate volunteers from around the world to become part of the Plastic-Free Ocean Initiative, a dedicated environmental program fighting plastic pollution and promoting sustainable waste management along the Kenyan coast. This is more than volunteering — it is a commitment to the future of our planet. You will work directly in coastal communities in: - Mombasa - Malindi - Kilifi These stunning coastal regions are rich in marine life, culture, and tourism — yet they face increasing threats from plastic waste and environmental degradation. As an Environmental Support Volunteer, you will actively participate in: - Beach clean-up campaigns along polluted shorelines - Community education on plastic reduction and recycling - Waste sorting and sustainable waste management training - School outreach programs to inspire young environmental guardians - Supporting local eco-projects and green innovation initiatives - Data collection on plastic pollution for environmental reporting Every action you take helps restore the beauty of the Indian Ocean coastline. Plastic pollution is choking marine life, damaging ecosystems, and threatening livelihoods that depend on fishing and tourism. By joining us, you become part of a global solution — bringing hope, awareness, and long-term change. Your presence helps: - Protect marine biodiversity - Empower local communities with sustainable habits - Reduce coastal pollution - Build a cleaner, healthier future for generations to come While making a difference, you will also experience the breathtaking beauty of Kenya’s coast: - White sandy beaches and turquoise waters- - Rich Swahili culture and coastal heritage - Warm, welcoming communities - Unforgettable sunsets over the Indian Ocean This is a meaningful journey of impact, learning, and cultural exchange. Be part of something bigger than yourself. Stand up for the ocean. Protect marine life. Inspire change. Together, we can create a Plastic-Free Ocean. Apply today and become a voice for the environment.
