Pamoja kwa Afya Bora Initiative — Together for Better Health

At UCESCO Africa, we believe that healthcare is a fundamental human right.

Over the past five years, we have witnessed the transformative power of compassionate, community-centered care. What began as a small outreach clinic in Kibera has grown into a cross-border medical mission delivering free healthcare services to underserved populations in both urban informal settlements and remote rural regions.

To date, our medical camps have reached over 34,256 patients, providing life-saving treatment and restoring dignity to individuals and families who would otherwise lack access to care. As we look ahead to 2026, UCESCO Africa is focused on expanding its reach, strengthening strategic partnerships, and increasing its impact to serve even more vulnerable communities.

Addressing Critical Healthcare Gaps

In communities such as Kibera, Mathare, Kariobangi, Kayole, and Samburu, access to healthcare remains a significant challenge. Overcrowding, poverty, and limited medical infrastructure contribute to:

  • Rising cases of chronic illnesses such as hypertension and diabetes
  • Widespread infectious diseases due to poor sanitation
  • Malnutrition, particularly among children
  • Limited access to clean water and essential health services

These realities informed the design of our mobile medical camp model—bringing healthcare directly to those who need it most.

A Story of Impact

Lives transformed through accessible healthcare

One powerful example is Justine Regan, a student at Shining Hope School, who lived with a painful leg deformity. During the 2025 UCESCO Africa Medical Camp, he received a life-changing surgery—completely free of charge. Today, Justine walks with strength and renewed hope, a testament to the life-changing power of accessible healthcare.
