Free Medical Camps/Clinics Mission

OVERVIEW OF THE MISSION

The UCESCO Africa Healthcare study abroad program is the largest and most reputable pre-health study abroad organization for undergraduates from Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America. Experience the most rewarding summer of your life by shadowing doctors for over 60- 150 hours across various medical specialties for a duration of 1 to 9 weeks in Kenya, Africa.

Within a few years of completing the program, alumni of UCESCO Africa Free Medical camps gain admission to 40 of the top 50 U.S. programs and beyond. The camp provides a range of opportunities in public health, nursing, and clinical electives through UCESCO Africa, located in Africa, Kenya and Uganda. These programs enable students to acquire international experience, learn from diverse healthcare systems, and immerse themselves in different cultures.

We extend an invitation to Pre-Med students and healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses, Clinical Officers, Dentists, Laboratory Techs, Opticians, as well as Non-Medical Volunteers (Interpreters, Patient Registration Assitants, Triangle, Ushers & Crowd Control, Record-Keeping & Data Entry, Kitchen and Hospitality, Rescue and emergency support etc)   to come and help during our Annual 1- 9 week free Medical camp/clinic in Africa, Kenya.

Participants will collaborate with local healthcare providers, gaining insights into the community’s health challenges and needs while developing valuable skills for their future careers in healthcare

LOGISTICS

Accommodation and Local Logistics

Accommodation: UCESCO has arranged a comfortable and relaxing apartment in a desirable area of Nairobi, conveniently located near popular malls, banks, and restaurants. This area is known for its safety and is favored by expatriates and foreigners. The apartment is clean, cozy, and comfortable.

Transportation: During the medical camp, UCESCO Africa will arrange for a bus/minibus to transport volunteers throughout the three-week period. Since we will be working as a team, the organization prefers that volunteers travel together. This transportation will be available to take volunteers from their accommodations to the medical camp sites and for city tours.

At the conclusion of the mission, UCESCO Africa will present certificates of appreciation to the individuals and Churches/mosques/institutions, organizations who have contributed, and to each volunteer during the final dinner.

Impact & Testimonials

“On behalf of the Nairobi County Government, I appreciate UCESCO-AFRICA for their incredible work. Your commitment to bringing health services closer to those in need ensures no one is left behind in pursuing a healthier, happier future. We recognize that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege. This medical camp reflects that belief. The Governor sends his sincere apologies for not attending but fully supports your impactful work."
Geoffery Mosiria
Chief Officer of Health Facilities - 2024
"When I came to this medical camp, I was just hoping to get some help. I never expected to be referred for surgery, let alone have the entire process—from consultation to treatment and the surgery itself—completely free. It felt like a miracle. I can’t thank CITADEL-UCESCO-AFRICA and the amazing doctors enough for giving me a second chance at life. I will forever be grateful."
